The Arctic Design Week is the world’s northernmost design week, arranged annually in Rovaniemi. The event is aimed at professionals, city residents and tourists. How could the Arctic Design Week become an attractive tourism product? Heidi Tiensuu approached this question from the perspective of customer and customer value.

On the basis of her empirical results and theoretical framework, Tiensuu established a model that describes the event as a tourism product. The event product consists of event system, event process, event space and the event concept. The event tourism product is born in the encounters and interaction between the organizers of the event, customers and stakeholders – before the event, during the event and after the event.

The research data consisted of written descriptions of event experiences, interviews, participatory observation and two blog posts.
