Dream Factory – Preincubator of Tourism and Experience Production
Duration: 1.11.2011 – 30.6.2014
The aim of the project is to create a guided process for creating something new, for developing idea and for testing the feasibility of the ideas either for the business community or for new businesses that are created as part of the process.
A second aim is for MTI to have a multidisciplinary, enduring and resolute operational model that would support entrepreneurial thinking, entrepreneurship and product and service innovations and would promote product development in existing firms as well. The operational model is based on cooperation among different levels of and field within the educational system. The activities and networking also create a foundation for new forms of cooperation among the business community, educational institutions and organisations providing business services.
The project begins with a survey of good practices which can be combined and further developed to create a suitable operational model for the Dream Factory. The focus of the work is on students and teachers. Through activation of students, teachers and the business community, different models will be tried out to determine how students’ ideas and the needs of the business community can be made to coincide naturally in teaching. During the project pedagogical model will be created, along associated Dream Factory studies.
Dream Factory will become a multidisciplinary development environment – idea incubator – that enables cooperation between institutions on different levels of the educational system and the business community. The environment in which Dream Factory is created will include a new pedagogical model that will support instructional content that conforms to project objectives.
The partners in the project are MTI, Kemi-Tornio UAS and the University of Lapland.
MTI’s role: MTI/Lapland UAS is the principal applicant.
